Self care ideas for lockdown 2.0

We all need a little self-care right now; The UK has just entered its second lockdown, the days are getting shorter, colder and darker, and christmas is coming, but people are worrying and thinking will there even ‘be’ a Christmas?

This lockdown will be diffrent to the first, first time round I was jumping around to Joe Wicks at 9am with the kids, walking to the beach and the woods, drinking wine in the sun in the garden! This time round, I just feel... meh. Its cold, its dark, and Primark is shut. I knew I should have got my fluffy pj’s ages ago when they first arrived in store! Damn.



I’ve put together a little list of ideas to help you get through this lockdown. So try not to stress, take a moment and have some well deserved me-time.

  1. Make a cup of hot chocolate, tea or coffee

  2. Light some scented candles

  3. Put your Christmas tree up early! ( I have and it makes me smile every time I walk in the room!)

  4. Have a bubbly bath ( add some flowers, essential oils and light candles)

  5. Watch a feel-good family film with the kids

  6. Start a self-care journal

  7. Snuggle up with a hot water bottle

  8. Write down 10 things that you are grateful for

  9. Have a digital detox. Turn off your phone!

  10. Meditate

  11. Start a new Netflix series

  12. Facetime your bestie

  13. Make an Amazon wishlist

  14. Put on a face mask or foot mask

  15. Read a book





Remember, we are all in this together, we need to be looking out for one another. Some people may be really struggling, may it be financially, mentally or just having a hard time coping. So be kind. Lets look after each other, and stay strong this lockdown!
